Keywords: column modeling, diffusion model, velocity nonuniformity, scale-up, scale effect, average concentration models, parameter identification.
Absrtract:
A diffusion type of model for simulation of column apparatuses processes is presented. On this base is explained the processes efficiency decrease as a result of the radial nonuniformity of the velocity distribution at the cross-section’s area of the column. An average concentration model is proposed for simulation of the scale effect in industrial columns. A hierarchical approach for model parameters identification is shown.

Institute of Mechanics and Engineering
Key words: non-isothermal viscous flow, laminar and turbulent regimes, vortex cells, heat transfer.
Abstract
Non-isothermal viscous flow around a cylinder with vortex cells is investigated numerically at laminar and turbulent regimes. The laminar flow and heat transfer is described by a set of Navier- Stokes equations and energy equations. The turbulent flow described by a Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations closed using the Menter zonal model of transport of shear stresses. Water is considered to be the working fluid and Prandtl number is set to be 7.0. The influence of the Reynolds number and the depth of cells on the heat transfer is analyzed.

e-mail:  isvetulia@mail.ru
Keywords:  thermal and thermodynamic efficiency, industrial furnaces, recycling, potential of temperature, exergy, secondary energy resources, the flue gases
Absrtract: The work is based on a study of the thermal and thermodynamic efficiency of industrial furnaces, as well as on the introduction into the system of work furnaces recovering apparatus, the operation of which will reduce the temperature potential of the flue gas into the atmosphere and to receive additional energy resources for the production of ethylene oxide. In the case of the proposed solution the saving of steam used for the technological needs of production could reach 23% of total annual consumption.
