Abstract
An estimation method of k-ε turbulence model empirical parameters using experimental flow velocity fields based on the quantitative optical velocity measurement methods is presented. k and ε are determined using oscillograms of the velocity vector components at every point of space. The empirical parameters of the turbulence model are determined with the help of the least squares method. The model is formulated with the aid of differential equations for k и ε. It is shown that the use of the new parameters values in a commercial CFD package provides better agreement with the experimental data in comparison with the standard values.

Abstract
The numerical investigation of flow-induced pulsations in a hydro turbine draft tube was made. Effects of such special devices as fins, cross-piece and runner cone modifications upon unsteady flow were considered. The vortex rope precession in the draft tube flow is shown. Computational spectra of pressure pulsations agree with the experimental results. A choice of optimal flow stabilization devices for the hydro turbine draft tube was made.

Abstract
The specific requirements for water pre-treatment efficiency are imposed in the modern methods of water treatment based on microfiltration – reverse osmosis – ion exchange scheme membrane technology. The paper presents the thermodynamic calculation of physico-chemical processes in the aluminum salts coagulation of natural water source using the developed application. In the calculations the complexation reactions with humic and fulvic acids present in natural water were taken into account. The optimal range of Al(OH)3 sediment existence depending on the chemical water composition is defined and recommendations on pre-treatment conducting are given.

Abstract
The experimental studies results of physical and chemical characteristics and mass transfer properties of heterogeneous ion-selective membranes of domestic and foreign production are presented. The experimental data analysis of practically important properties of ion-exchange membranes: resizing and swelling in solutions, the exchange capacity, coefficients of diffusion membrane permeability and separation selectivity of the salt and alkaline solutions is carried out. The results of experimental studies allow selecting membranes for the electro membrane utilization process of highly mineralized liquid alkali waste of heat power plants.

Abstract
Optimization of specimen shape for experimental studies of crack growth rate under biaxial loading is the main methodological matter. In this paper typical specimens for testing under biaxial stresses are considered. FEM was used to estimate the stress state within working zone in various cruciform specimens. As a result the optimal shape of cruciform specimen for crack growth rate study under variable biaxial stress ratio was proved.

Abstract
Constraint effects in the most popular specimens of fracture mechanics are analyzed on the base on experimental and numerical studies. Characterization of constraint effects in terms of: non-singular T-stress, parameter In, plastic intensity factor Kp, the fracture process zone size is investigated. The influence of the geometric parameters, initial crack length on the behavior of constraint factors are considered. Particular attention to the constraint effects analysis through thickness of the specimens is paid. A comparative analysis of the elastic and plastic constraint parameters is performed. The applicability of the plastic stress intensity factor to analysis of the in-plane and out-of-plane constraint effect is also discussed.
